Let's make a Memory of a Lifetime!!!!

For those of us with saltwater running through our veins, it's hard to beat the Clear Lake area when we need a fix of briny air, cool water and the sounds of water fowl calling to their mates and catching their dinner.

Clear Lake is situated just south of downtown Houston, making it convenient location for an on-the-water wedding. It is comprised of the quaint communities of League City, Clear Lake City, Clear Lake Shores, El Lago, Kemah, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Taylor Lake Village and Webster, each of which cast a unique and picturesque shoreline setting for your special day. The entire area, including Galveston Bay, is known as the "Boating Capital of Texas." Did you know that our area boasts the third-largest fleet of pleasure yachts in the United States?

Now home to NASA's Johnson Space Center and a variety of aerospace and petrochemilcal companies, the community was first substantially developed by James Marion West, who arrived in Texas from Mississippi as a young boy in 1880. He became a wealthy business man and operated ranch property - and built his home - around the shores of Clear Lake and Clear Creek.

After oil was discovered in the area, Humble Oil purchased the property from West in 1938. It was largely undeveloped until NASA created the spacecenter, and Humble oil created Friendswood Development Company as a venture to establish residential development.

Today, it is a thriving bustling community of a diverse group of people ranging from native Texans to those who came far and wide to embrace the opportunities that the Clear Lake area offers to those seeking work as well as recreation. Boating, fishing, bird-watching, photography and all manner of water sports and other artistic activities are inspired by the beauty and charm of the area. It is the ideal backdrop for your wedding.

The cure for anything is saltwater - sweet, tears, or the sea.
